7 Things Miami is Known For
It is one thing to go to South Beach, or other parts of the Miami city itself. It is yet another thing to go there and not do anything at all.
In fact, if you should fall into the latter category, we should probably stop being friends.
Okay, we’re kidding. But then, no one should go to these locations and not come back with a good report.
The next time you think about Miami and South Beach, here are some of the things you should look forward to.
Weather
The very proximity of Miami and its South Beach area to the ocean does a lot of wonders when it comes to the beautiful whether enjoyed in this region. The typical climate is such that there is ever rarely a time when you don’t love it. Even when it is winter, you still cannot miss the warmth. Little wonder, many people from that area like to spend a lot of their time outside, basking in the very beauty of this weather.
Art Basel
The Miami Art Basel is the leading art exhibition in the Americas, so you know this is one show you don’t want to miss. As the name implies, you can expect all the top museums and galleries from all over the region, and beyond, to come show off what they’ve got. At the Art Basel, art is portrayed in different ways and forms: paintings, sculptures, drawings, photography, films and videos – you name it.
To make it better, the Art Basel knows how to throw a wicked party… and they do attract the cream of the celebrity world!
Miami Fashion Week
Held in the Spring, the Miami Fashion Week holds the record of being the largest fashion show in the world. Well, if the Caribbeans and Latin Americans are the only ones being considered. Due to the nature of the Miami landscape, many other fashion shows are largely based on swimwear. Here, you get everything: from menswear and intimate wear to a large number of evening wears.
Tacos
Tacos might be a thing of the Mexicans, but trust the chefs from Miami to put a personal touch on it.
If you are a fan of tacos, you would be treated to a wide variety of them here. Even if you were not a fan, we believe this is the place you finally change your mind. Simply put, if you don’t get the tacos in South Beach, don’t leave Miami.
Sports Teams
When the Miami residents are not going about their businesses or soaking in the sun during the day, they are catching games of their home sports teams in the evenings.
If you also had the likes of Miami Dolphins – the only NFL team to have completed a perfect season; Florida Panthers – the city’s own Hockey team; Miami Heat – the basketball team that won back-to-back league titles in 2012 and 2013; Miami Marlins – who have gone on to win two world series since inception and Inter Miami CF – a new football club spearheaded by legendary footballer David Beckham, you would want to watch sports too.
Beaches
This piece would not be complete if we didn’t mention the beaches.
Why else are the oceans almost everywhere you turn to? Why else is the weather so perfect? Why else do fashion designers launch their swimwear products in this location?
Getting right into the middle of it, you will find out that Miami has tens of beaches that you can choose from. All of these are in great locations and provide you with different experiences.
In fact, you could be to multiple beaches and not know you were still within the same city – or even state!
Winter Music Conference
Have you been craving a week-long stretch of electrifying EDM? The Winter Music Conference in Miami is just the place to be.
Held every March without fail, this event holds the reputation of being the premiere EDM platform – and it does live up to that name.
The beauty of this music festival is not in the fact that you get to hear all the big names sing live. You also get to see the newbie artists and DJs flaunt their stuff right in front of you.
If you ask us, this is just the kind of blend to always keep you on the edge of what to expect.
Wrap Up
Do you want to miss any of these? Absolutely not. If you are in Miami and South Beach, there are some of the things worth witnessing before you leave the city. Don’t take our word for it. Get into the city and see things for yourself. We will be here, waiting for that ‘thank you.’
Have fun!
