Start your day with yoga (free)

Address: 301 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132

Want to take a free yoga class? Bayfront Park, a public park in downtown Miami, offers free yoga classes at the Tiny Hills Pavilion.
Mats, towels, and water are not provided, so remember to come prepared. You are also welcome to leave a donation at the end of the class if you wish.
This is a great way to start your day and get a view of Biscayne Bay (which the park overlooks).

Visit the Museum of Art and Design (free)

Address: 600 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132

If you’re looking to get out of the Miami heat, this museum is a great option. You can cool down whilst enjoying the art and design it showcases from across the Miami-Dade County campuses. Admission to the museum is free every single day. The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is also located nearby. It offers free admission Tuesdays through Sunday from 9AM to 5PM. Donations are suggested but not obligatory.

Go to Crandon Park ($7)

Address: 6747 Crandon Blvd, Key Biscayne, FL 33149

Getting off the beach is sometimes necessary for an extended stay in Miami. But don’t worry, there are other ways to get active too! Crandon Park is on the tip of Key Biscayne and offers fun opportunities for the whole family. You can walk or bike trails, play beach volleyball, play tennis or golf, go kiteboarding, and much more. If you pack a lunch or cooler for grilling (there are barbecue grills available), then you’ll be set. There’s a $7 parking fee on weekends which is a nominal price for the amount of fun you can have.

Take a walk in Little Havana (up to you)

Address: Little Havana Neighborhood

Remember, Cuba isn’t too far from Miami. When Fidel Castro became prime minister in 1959, Miami was flocked with Cubans trying to create a better life for themselves and their families. Get your taste of Cuban culture by visiting Little Havana. You can take this at your own speed. In this area, you’ll find churro ice cream, sugarcane juice, and strong coffee. Some individuals opt to take a culinary tour around Little Havana or just walk around to see murals. You can walk into the cigar shops and just browse or buy your own. Little Havana is a neighborhood with real people and authentic culture. You don’t have to spend anymore here, or you can spend as much as you so please on the experience! It’s entirely up to you.

The Boardwalk and Beach

Address: Along Ocean shore of Miami Beach

One of the best things to do in Miami Beach is walk along the boardwalk. It’s several miles of a nice relaxing stroll nestled between the beach and the beautiful hotels. There are lots of restaurants that back onto the boardwalk at the hotels, mind you, it will be tricky to keep those restaurant bills under $20. The walk itself (or run, or bike) is something locals tend to do on a daily basis. You can easily spend several hours doing this walk which will take you entirely through south beach. Be sure to stop by South Point at the southern tip of the board walk. There are parks and stray cats, with lots to look at. You can check the cruise ships go by every few hours. Very fun!

Rent a Bike (~$10)

Address: Miami Beach

They were once called Deco Bikes, now they’re Citi Bikes, who knows what they’re called tomorrow, but you can easily rent these bikes with a credit card at the bike stations dotted along Miami Beach. Many cities have these style of bikes, but if you’re not familiar, you can pick up a bike from a station and drop it off at any other. You’re charged for amount of time you have the bike for. It’s a really great system and you can see lots of the beach and have lots of exercise when you do this. Highly recommend.
